Answer: Introduction: For a firm to be successful and competitive in the market, it must embrace diversity and draw on experience, skills, and understanding of all its people. The reward of diversity is significant. A firm that recruits its employees from different location enjoys wider experience in customer relation, and different talents are displayed (Martin 2014). Increase productivity and competitive advantages can be as a result of diversity. When there is diversity in management, managers can come up with new skills for uniting employees, and when there is diversion in staff, new ideas and innovations can be brought which can help in serving the customers Workforce diversity increases creativity within a firm. A variety of solution on how to accomplish a common goal can be achieved from the employee from a different background. Company with diverse workforce attracts many job seekers from the different background because it is evident that they do not practice employment discrimination. These firms have the advantage to attract new talent as well as retain the existing talents resulting in high production (Martin 2014). Workplace diversity leads to mandatory diversity training on how best to interact with clients and other employees. To other workers, this is forcefully resulting in reduced morale. Some employee may feel less important when they realize that the company wants to increase diversity if they dont belong to the typical diverse population. They may also have the attitude that the diverse group has more chance to advance hence spoil the good rapport they had with the work mate (Darby 2015, page 3). It may be hard to accommodate the demand of different diverse group making diversity management difficult. Conclusion In conclusion, workplace diversity has advantages and disadvantages as discussed above.
